This week we made a big change into a new trailer! We’d been eyeing the Brinkleys for while, and this newer model, Z310 Air ended up being the perfect fit! The closest one was located up in Prescott, AZ, a 3 hour drive from where we’re staying in Casa Grande. We got up early, packed up our Vibe and drove up to the Blue Compass RV dealership. Our Brinkley was out here waiting for us when we pulled up.

Brinkleys are built more for full time living and this particular one is a “couples trailer.” The layout is similar to our previous one but with much more storage and tank capacity, so we’ll be able to go boondocking longer. We also got extra solar panels and batteries to be able to power the whole rig while we’re not hooked up. We had researched for quite a while, and we were glad this one could be towed by our current truck. Also we love the modern updated decor.

We started with a walk-through inspection, then completed the paperwork. Then we got to moving. We pulled up the Vibe right next to the Brinkley. Becky started moving all our stuff from one to the other while Grant worked on moving our ProPride hitch over, which took several hours. Luckily, they had said we could stay overnight if we needed the time, which we certainly did, so we spent our first night right there with most of our stuff moved over but not yet put away. In the morning, we moved the rest of the stuff, completed the hitch install and put away as much as we needed to leave to drive back to our camp.

We made the drive back to our site, but we had noticed the hitch was acting a little weird. The trailer was able to be parked just right but as we were unhooking, there was an issue with the tongue jack. The site was a bit uneven and the hitch ended up having a situation. All in all it was scary for a minute! But we have awesome neighbors who came out to help (also to see the Brinkley!), and they had jacks to help us support the front. So, we’ve ordered the replacement tongue jack and we should be back up to normal when that arrives.

The new trailer has been our main attraction, but in the mean time, we’ve spent our time enjoying a few of the 80 degree days! We were fortunate to have our new friends, Karie and Jon, over to visit for dinner. It was great to hang out with you guys! We also checked out a local cafe for lunch, L’Grande Cafe. The sandwich and salad were yummy, although it did take quite a long time to get the food. Poppa Fox is enjoying our new home and decided to show off his Dodgers outfit.

We’ve still got a bit to organize, including our clothes and all our outside stuff. We’ll be chipping away at that over the next week or so. Only a couple more weeks here in Casa Grande then we’re off to new places, starting with the International Builders Show in Las Vegas from February 25-27. If you’ll be there, let’s meet up!
Love the new RV 👏🏻 Congrats!
Congratulations on your new home!!! It looks wonderful, especially the two recliners. 😀
