Good Times in the South
Last week we left the Georgia State Park and drove southwest to Columbus, GA, only a couple hours away. We stayed at Lake Pines RV Park, which worked out fine for our quick stay. We got some exercise in at the nearby YMCA.
We went to Columbus, GA to meet a potential Property Team for RealWealth. We started at a converted bank into coffee shop, Iron Bank. Columbus is a military town, demonstrated by the military man. The downtown Columbus was surprisingly very cute and revitalized. They showed us around to their properties, which were solid and in great neighborhoods. We went to lunch at Mix Market at the Pearl. There were a variety of food types, but we all opted for the Asian Bowls. It was great!
Afterwards, we walked around along the Chattahoochee River and grabbed some afternoon coffee at the Fountain City Coffee inside Banks Food Hall. We enjoyed the riverwalk, and loved the beautiful weather! Becky kept thinking of this country song: Chattahoochee.
Then it was time to head off again. We spent a few nights in Birmingham, AL on our way heading north. We stayed at the Hoover Met Complex, a huge sports complex with all kinds of fields for soccer, baseball, tennis, etc. We walked around in the neighborhood near the center, and we loved the houses and rolling hills. We got some work done, and even got to sit outside for a while. This place was more “parking lot style” and worked fine as a passing through place.
We walked over to Brock’s Gap Brewery, only about 1/2 mile away, and enjoyed their beer flights. Shortly after we got there, they were having trivia night, which we’re usually pretty terrible at. We played along without officially joining, and it’s a good thing we didn’t join because we were not very good! We did actually get a few right!
It was nice enough to workout outside, so we walked over to the soccer fields and did a HIIT style workout, which included lots of core. Then, we enjoyed the reward of breakfast out at the new nearby Biscuit Belly. We got to meet up there with the Birmingham RealWealth Team to catch up, which was great. Forgot to get a pick of all of us, but did get the pick of the food, ha! Becky went Southern and got the biscuit with fried chicken, jalapeño pimento cheese and a fried green tomato. Grant went hipster and got avocado toast, which was also delicious. 😋
Now we’re headed to north to spent 10 days in Indianapolis, IN, where we also have other trips we’re flying from there next week. Indy people, see you soon!
